The PM8 from SM Pro Audio is a stereo summing mixer that sums eight channels of audio down to a stereo output. The unit is unique in that it can be used both as a completely passive device, allowing the user to utilize their choice of make-up gain, or as an active device with an output gain stage that feeds two separate stereo outputs.
Each channel has a volume, pan and mute control and the two output gain stages have independent volume controls. A second unit can be added for those situations that demand an extra eight channels. The unit is also a perfect tool for merging hardware synths and samplers into a hardware or virtual mixer.
Note:
Power is only required to operate the "Master 1" or "Master 2" make-up gain electronics. If passive operation is preferred the user should use the "Passive Output" pair which does not require mains power connection.
Eight channel passive mix bus with two additional active outputs
Single stereo passive output (no make-up gain) and two stereo output pairs with +24dB internal make-up gain
Eight rotary channel volume attenuator controls, mute switches and rotary pan controls
Internal universal power supply
