Sony DSCP200B Overview

With the Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 digital camera, extremely high-resolution images are within your grasp. The 7.2 effective Megapixel Super HAD CCD means that your images will print larger and will carry finer detail. Even with its outstanding imaging capabilities, the DSC-P200 is incredibly compact and travels easily wherever you go. Lending a hand is the unique Sony Real Imaging Processor, helping to make the DSC-Cyber-shot P200 highly energy efficient as well as speeding the camera operation- you're sure never to miss a shot due to shutter lag!

The DSC-P200 also features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens with 3X optical zoom and the Real Imaging Processor for excellent response times and crisp, clear visuals that are consistently stunning. Images are further enhanced with the 14-Bit DXP A/D Conversion for the extended contrast range and Multi-Pattern Measuring for optimum exposure.

The back of the Cyber-shot P200 presents another surprise. The large 2.0-inch LCD is bigger than one would expect for a pocket camera of these dimensions. Animated and enlarged icons make choosing functions simpler and it's easier to read the menu or select from any of the camera's exposure settings and nine Scene Selection modes. Furthermore, you can use USB 2.0 to connect directly to a PictBridge printer or hook up to a PC and use the bundled software for more creativity with your pictures. For even greater capabilities, the Cyber-shot P200 supports an optional powered cradle, the Cyber-shot station. With this you can connect to a PC, printer or AV device, using a remote control to view your images on TV, while the camera battery charges up in the dock.

Super HAD (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCDs provide excellent image quality by allowing more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise.
Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar Lens
Carl Zeiss lenses have an advanced optical multi-layer coating offering less glare and flare with increased contrast. This results in vivid image brilliance, true-to-life color saturation and perfect renditions of subtle tones.
3x Optical/2x Digital Zoom
The 3x Optical zoom helps you fill the frame with your subject for better pictures. And Sony's Precision Digital Zoom helps bring your subject closer with an extra 2X magnification for a total magnification of 6x.
14x SmartZoom
The Smart Zoom intelligently uses the full CCD to let you zoom into the portion of interest by cropping the image size-thus avoiding the image degradation of Digital Zooms
Large 2.0" LCD

Real Image Processor
Sony's Real Imaging Processor CPU converts RGB+E input to ideal RGB, and manages image control and power consumption. Because it's optimized for Digital Camera functions, it provides outstanding image quality, extraordinary speed and improved battery life.
Stamina Battery Life
Sony's Stamina battery technology means the Cyber-shot DSC-P200 can shoot up to 370 high quality images on one charge of the InfoLithium battery (by CIPA standard).
Quick Operation
With a start-up time of 1.3 seconds, time between shots of 0.3 seconds, and a shutter Release Lag of only 0.01 seconds, you'll always be ready to catch that amazing shot.
Manual Exposure Setting
Get creative with manual exposure control - you can set aperture and shutter speeds independently to fine tune creative elements such as depth of field and motion blur.

MPEG VX Fine Video Mode with Audio
Captures VGA (640 x 480) movies at a high frame rate (up to 30 frames per second) with the clip length limited only by the capacity of the media. There is also a MPEG VX Standard mode for a lower frame rate and the Video mail mode captures smaller file sizes suitable for email.
AF (Auto Focus) Illuminator
Briefly lighting the scene in low- or no-light conditions, the AF Illuminator insures a positive focus lock, allowing you to accurately establish and maintain focus in difficult situations.
Live Histogram Display
Available in capture and playback the Live Histogram displays the concentration of pixels at each luminosity value making it easy to evaluate correct exposure.
PictBridge Compatible
Connect your PictBridge compatible digital camera directly to a PictBridge compatible digital photo printer via a USB cable to allow for simple photo printing without the need for a computer.
Cyber-shot Station Dock Compatible (optional accessory)
Make transferring images and recharging the DSC-P200's battery easier with the optional Cyber-shot Station camera dock. Just place the camera on the cradle for instantaneous power and computer connections.
