The Print File Custom Negative Proofer is an accurate tool for contact printing on 8x10" paper.

A heavy duty glass pressure plate holds the film down securely against the printing paper which, in turn, is held by a durable foam pad.

Seven strips of five frame 35mm film can be contacted on this proofer.

Film can be contact printed directly through the Print File Nega-File system without removing them from the plastic sleeve thus preventing potential damage to the emulsion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to make contact sheets! I've been using Print File's negative holders for sometime, and using a piece of Plexiglas to make contact sheets. Well I finally ponied up a couple of bucks for Print File's Custom Proofer. Basically your negative holder goes under the glass above a fresh sheet of paper. The glass gives nice even pressure, so your contact sheets are sharp across the board. Why didn't I buy this sooner?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the Price I use this contact proofer to make contact prints of digital negatives. It keeps the negative pressed up against my paper so the whole image is equally in focus. It is great for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works fine; locking clip would add value A locking clip would be helpful; with this unit you need to hold down the glass during exposure to ensure sharp proofs when negs have curl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product as advertised This product is not exactly cheap for being a frame with the glass on a hinge and one could easily get by with a regular glass taken out of a picture frame but this definitely simplifies things by aligning your paper, the and the film sleeves. The glass is plenty heavy to keep it all flat too. If you plan on doing contact prints more often I would recommend this, and I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for making contact prints I can't really imagine a better product for making contact prints. Well-constructed and simple to use, with enough room to maneuver different-sized negatives in various configurations (so you're not locked in to a single orientation).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I use this to make contact sheets for each roll of film I shoot, so that I can determine which shot would be a better print, and this product makes it very easy to do so. I have no complaints about this what so ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! Used at my Community College's darkroom and decided to Get one for my own darkroom. I use to use a piece a foam and glass. I guess that worked but this is easier and safer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great tool but.... it is very well made, and very useful. However, the negative sleeves are designed to fit ten negative strips of 5 photos each. This negative proofer is about half an inch too small to fit all of them at the same time !!!
