The TP-300W FireWire to Twisted Pair Transmitter/Receiver Range Extender from Comprehensive / Kramer allows you to extend the range of your FireWire devices using CAT5 networking cable. The device takes a FireWire signal and converts it to a signal that can be transmitted over CAT5. A second unit is needed to convert the incoming signal back into a FireWire one at the other end of the chain, so you'll need at least 2 of these devices to extend the range of your FireWire signal.
Extend FireWire Range
You'll be able to extend your FireWire range by up to 320' (100 m) using a pair of extenders. You can even add a 3rd extender, allowing you to go for up to 640' (200 m) between your FireWire device and computer.
