Entering into a historic partnership with the Lomographic Society International, Zenit has introduced the Horizon Kompakt Rotating Lens 35mm Panorama Camera and Perfekt panoramic cameras.
As a true panoramic camera, the Horizon's double-wide angle of view commands nearly two full 35mm frames. Everything around you is brought into the frame and rendered in absolutely stunning color and clarity.
Note:
The Horizon's special panoramic format of 24x58mm requires professional processing. Most consumer labs that are available through supermarkets, drugstores, or 1-hour places do not have the capacity to properly scan and develop your shots. Please check with a professional lab if they can handle this size.
Multicoated OF-28P Glass Lens
At the heart of this system is a 28mm lens that features multicoated glass lens elements, which produce crispy, full-contrast images.
Swing-Lens Technology
As a true panorama camera, this camera features a rotating lens. Cocking the Horizon's shutter charges its clockwork mechanics, and touching the shutter release sets the lens into motion. As the lens swings from side to side, a narrow vertical slit between the lens and film rotates along with it - thereby progressively exposing the film as the lens moves. The film plane is curved, thereby keeping the film tight and maintaining a uniform distance from the lens.
Fixed f/8 Aperture
Every shot that you take has f/8 automatically dialed in. Not only does this yield excellent depth of field, but it's also the optimum diaphragm setting for sharpness and clarity from the MC OF-28P lens.
Day and Night Shutter Settings
For ease of use, the Kompakt offers just two settings to alternate with your itchy trigger finger. The day setting shoots at 1/60 second, and works in full sunlight to partial shade. The night setting gives you 1/2 second, enough to make a softly lit street scene absolutely glow with color and shine.
Double Exposures
Since this camera's film advance and shutter are uncoupled, this means that you can cock and fire the shutter as many times as you like, without advancing the film.
Battery-Free Operation
Entirely mechanical, without any chance of ever running out of battery power.
