Carson JD-718 reviews

7x18 Mini Scout Binocular is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expected more, 7x18 miniscout I had read ok reviews from all around the web prior to purchasing these miniscouts. After unpacking and adjusting the right diopter correctly, the bins are still waay out on the collimation. When lowering from face my eyes feel like they have been sucked on by a giant squid. I use binoculars regularly and prefer porro style to roof.. but these are just no good. Image quality is passable with a lot of pincushioning, light reduction and blur at the edges but yeah.. everything is effected by that collimation issue. Build quality appears good and shipping super fast to Australia from BH. I tried adjusting them thus I wont return them. They arent adjustable either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job! I needed to find a set of binoculars for concerts, theater, Broadway shows, etc while visiting in NYC that is wide angle (9.3) without breaking the bank. This is it. The compact size is great and convenient. Compared this to Nikon, Zeiss, Olympus, and Bushnell at the store. Clear choice for easy budget. Kids loved it. Used it to see Wicked twice, concerts at Carnegie Hall/Metropolitan Opera/David Geffen (formerly Avery Fischer) Hall. Great results. The wide angle view really allows you to see more action on stage. Will use them to watch sports too (e.g. basketball & football).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for. I bought these in store and was helped so much. I was looking for the perfect opera binoculars and these are absolutely the perfect range for that! I can see each actor from head to toe while they sing, which is perfect to follow on with the opera!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for opera and more!! When I bought these I was not sure they'd be sufficient for what I needed. I was to use them at the Opera. My season tickets are at the family circle (far back). At B&B they gave me these as the best choice and hardly showed me anything else. Well, they really are exactly what I needed. Clear and bright view. They're steady in the hand. Super light and small. I'm actually considering using them for outdoors too! Very happy both with the recommendation and the product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It does the job! We used it at a concert where we sat in the mezzanine. It had decent resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for opera This is a great pair of binoculars. I went to the store to buy the la scala opera glasses, and was assured by the knowledgeable salesman that these were a better call. They were also about half the price. Gonna get a second pair for my mom. They’re tiny and inconspicuous, and much more powerful than other opera glasses, without sacrificing area of view. You can see everything you need to at the opera or theater

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good very lightweight binocs, but eye relief is tight good. However, the quoted 10 mm eye relief is drastically reduced by the non-foldable eyecups. (They are rubber, but when I folded them down they popped right back up.) If you don't wear glasses then these offer a nice binoc in a really tiny package. I got them because they were recommended by Rick Steeves, but they don't work with glasses very well.
