Interfering reflections can be controlled by absorption or diffusion. In small rooms, it is often desirable to control these reflections while providing an ambient sound field using diffusion instead of absorption.
The Skyline LP from RPG is a two dimensional diffuser that is designed to diffuse interfering rear wall reflections and provide a diffuse sound field in smaller rooms and where available wall depth is often limited due to equipment location and other furnishings.
Molded from high density Noryl flame-retardant grade high density expanded polystyrene, the panels work on the two dimensional optimized primitive-root reflection phase grating principle, using an array of rectangular phase blocks.
The 4" deep Skyline LP scatters incident sound uniformly so that the acoustic glare in all directions is minimized and is supplied in a flat white painted finish.
