Astro Design Inc SC-2060 Overview

The SC-2060 Digital HDTV Line Doubler from Astro Systems is a device designed to convert interlaced HDTV system SDI (serial digital) signals into double-speed progressive RGB signals and output them as DVI signals. Use this unit to reproduce SDI signals faithfully without a loss of image quality.

This system takes advantage of a new, moving-image, detection-and-compensation technology developed by Astro Systems. Called Astrosnap (ASTRO Super Natural Motion Picture), it smoothes the jagged edges in the outline areas of the picture, which cause a significant deterioration in image quality. This pull-down process was originally intended for film, computer graphics, and other high resolution images. Therefore, you can expect extremely sharp image quality, even when displayed on large-screen formats.

Image-quality adjustment functions include brightness, contrast, hue, color, edge, and enhancement. Internal test patterns can be chosen as needed and used for fine-tuning adjustments. An external reference synch input is also supported.
