M-Audio's Key Rig is a virtual rack consisting of four instrument modules, compatible with most current software hosts both for Mac and Windows. The rack can be used either as a stand alone application or as a plug-in and delivers a wide variety of keyboard and synthesizer sounds.
The SP-1 Stage Piano module contains grand pianos, Wurlitzer and other classic electric pianos, FM, clavinet and more, while the MS-2 Polyphonic Synthesizer delivers a new and easy way to call up and edit great synthesizer sounds. The MB-3 Electromagnetic Organ emulates the classic Hammond organ sound complete with rotary speaker and the GM-4 General MIDI Module is ideal for creating general backing tracks.
The master MIDI/Mixer section of Key Rig allows one to route, split, layer and mix these four modules in whatever way is best suited for the project. A master effects section allows for adding a common overall effect, which is in addition to the individual effect section included with each instrument.
