ROR ROROR1O overview

  • 1Description

This 1.0 oz Residual Oil Remover, or simply ROR, establishes a new definition of what a 'clean' surface is. The first application of ROR often results in an amazing 'wow' factor for the user; sometimes it's hard to believe what comes off the surface being cleaned.

ROR has redefined the science of lens-care by utilizing a formula of natural ingredients that eradicates the counterproductive microscopic oil residues from the surface and pores of glass and plastic. On camera lenses, LCD screens, flat-panel TV's, cell-phones iPods and more - ROR cuts through, breaks down, and allows the removal of all those performance debilitating smudges and smears. Once those oily residues are eliminated, dust, dirt, and pollen particles have nothing to cling to; this enables the sparkling clean surface to remain cleaner for a longer period of time.

ROR has been tested and proven to be safe to use on most delicate and precious surfaces; from multicoated lenses to beryllium-surfaced contacts, ROR has proven itself to be one of the finest and safest lens treatments available.

ROR can be applied with an untreated micro-fiber cloth or untreated disposable wipes. When using a micro-fiber cloth, it is advisable to wash it out regularly in a mild soap solution that is free of additives or softeners. Washing the micro-fiber cloth before using it with ROR ensures a neutral starting point for a successful cleaning session.

The surface to be cleaned must be moistened with ROR prior to wiping; it should be applied to the task-wiper first - not directly on the lens or surface. This prevents pools of liquid from going where it's not supposed to, while conserving the solution. Gently blotting the surface to be cleaned with a moistened cloth or wipe will allow the solution to work into the layers of build-up, facilitating its safe and complete removal. A clean area of the cloth, or a new wipe, should be used for the final cleaning stages.

When cleaning a well-loved lens with ROR for the first time, several applications and wipes may be needed to remove the multi-layer build-up of oils, pollution, and dirt.

Note: Not recommended for use on focusing screens, CCD/CMOS sensors, or internal aliasing filters

Safely cleans lenses, scanners, LCD screens, optics, TVs, iPods, etc

Residual Oil Remover (1.0 oz) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product This stuff is great! I had smudges on my lens that had been there for years because I only use my camera sporadically. I was always afraid to wipe them off but I used this product with some lens tissue and now the lens looks brand new! I found that the key to apply the product to one tissue, wipe the lens, and then switch to a dry tissue and continue the circular motions out from the center until all of the liquid and streaks are gone. It also worked great on a smudge on the glass on the back of the lens, which I had been even more afraid to deal with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect product to clean optics I use this product for my camera lenses and optical surfaces. As i'm very careful about my belongings there was not very big dirt on surfaces but especially the lcd screen was full of fingerprints. And i also use it with one of my lenses(55-250) which i mistakenly touch the optical surface. It did the job well, without any scratches cleaned the surface(I used it with PEC-PAD Lint Free Wipes). The only problem was when i got the delivery the fluid was a little leaked(It maybe about the shipment). But when i checked loss wasn't much and returning would cost more than the product so i decided to keep it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens cleaning fluid This lens cleaning fluid was recommended to me years ago by a NASA scientist who would use it to clean NASA's telescope lenses. It is great at removing fingerprints or any dirt off of lenses. It leaves minimal streaks. I use a Pec Pad lens wipe to apply it. Then I remove any final streaking by breathing onto the lens and using another Pec Pad wipe. I keep the smallest size bottles in my camera bags. I also use it on monitor screens, eye glasses, iPhone and iPad screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cleaner This is my second bottle of this stuff (it does come with an 'expiration' date) and you can't beat it. I use it on camera lenses and filters and my computer monitor. Use it to clean your phone, whatever. I was always a little leery of putting some unknown solution on expensive displays/lenses/electronics. No more. ROR takes the fear away, also the dirt, fingerprints, oil, smudges and whatever else that is unclearing something that should be clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lens Cleaner I've used ROR for about 8 years. It's just great. Used sparingly applied to KimTech wipes or other tissue, it cleans fingerprints and just about all other marks from glass surfaces (other than traumatic nicks, etc). The trick to using it is SPARINGLY apply and THEN with a dry tissue, continue to wipe any residual from the surface. You'll be amazed at the results. As with other lens cleaners, don't apply directly to a lens. That will help avoid seepage into the barrel itself which causes all sorts of grief. Also available to apply in a handy spray bottle but again, spray the tissue first then clean the lens after blowing off loose debris. Both the spray and smaller liquid bottles last quite awhile. Try it, you'll like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth, almost silky like cleaner. Many great reviews! Is good, safe to use on expensive lenses. I only need one or two drops max on a tissue. It does get the glass clean!!! However. As mentioned by some, it seems to linger and leave light ghosty traces. These come right off with a fresh tissue and huff of moist air. But, prefer not to huff on the lens in case it's acidic. Perhaps best to follow-up with one drop of standard cleaner, always on clean tissue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely works as advertised! The main reason for purchasing ROR was to clean a polarizing filter which seemed to have a greasy coat on it. My regular cleaner just smeared the greasy film around. When ROR was used as directed with lens cleaning paper, the filter was spotless in 2 minutes. I also used it on my 600mm lens which tends to accumulate a difficult to remove film and it cleaned up spotless in a jiffy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works It's a cleaning solution and it works, what more can you say. I use it with the Kimtech Kimwipes and it works well. I also use the Zeiss pre-moistened wipes. Between these two solutions I can have all my optics clean. Canon Lenses, Zeiss spotting scope, Zeiss Binoculars, Celestron SCT telescope and eye pieces.
