Tele Vue made the 25.4mm Tube to add 25.4mm (1") space between 2.4" imaging accessories to achieve the proper distance between the field lenses and the imager. It has male and female threads that allow it to be securely attached to other tubes to set the gear the appropriate distance apart for accurate focusing onto the imaging sensor, and are treated to be anti-reflection which reduces internal light scattering. The tube can be also be used with Tele Vue's un-threaded spacers for additional precision.
