The ADC-800 CAM Analog to Digital Converter with Audio and Time Code Embedded from Miranda Technologies is a compact, camera-mounted interface that allows you to monitor and record a live feed from an HDV camcorder. It takes an uncompressed Component analog input and converts it to an HD/SD SDI output. The converted signal also includes left/right audio and an embedded time code.
The unit's path overcomes processing delays inherent in MPEG2 Long GOP structures, which often make it difficult to monitor live HDV streams. Another benefit of the unit's design is a lack of excessive cabling, which simplifies management of the unit and your setup. The converter also includes a separate, on-screen display that features 4:3 aspect ratio markers, time-code burn in, and audio peak meters.
