Gefen EXT-DIGAUD Overview

At times, when installing a home theater, the limits of cable length can become a problem when distancing and separating components. All cables types suffer from issues of signal degradation, limited maximum length or the exorbitant cost of long cable runs. To address this, Gefen has created the DIGAUD-141 Digital Audio Extender which has the capability to convert and broadcast TOSLink optical or S/PDIF coaxial digital audio. This signal can be transmitted over a single inexpensive and common CAT5 network cable to connect the sender and receiver units over great distances. The signal path is able to maintain complete stereo or multi-channel audio formats (DTS, Dolby Digital, 8.1 etc.) from the source with a maximum range of 330 feet (100 m.)

Supplies clear digital audio over long distances as if connected locally
Streamlines audio installations by allowing source devices to be located off-site or in an unseen rack
Audio is transmitted digitally for zero signal loss

I am using the extender to deliver multi-channel audio from my computer's toslink port (Jriver Media Center) to my home theater pre-pro's digital coax connection (about 30 feet away). The extender works perfectly; no noise, no jitter, no drops, just good high quality audio signal. Tested optical to coax, optical to optical and coax to optical: They all work seamlessly with both Dolby 5.1 and DTS. This is a great product if you have a long cable run or if you need a media converter (toslink to coax, etc).

Im looking to set this up with a Sonos Amp New version that is located in a rack. The Tv has only Cat6 wire available to connect which runs to the amp. I have the Sonos Optical to ARC (HDMI) adapter located at the amp. Will this work?
