    Domke 700-10D Reviews

F-1X Shoulder Bag (Olive) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 118.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait this long! A classic in larger size! I do a lot of travel, location and street shooting in Medium Format. This bag fits my Hasselblad 500C/M with 50mm and PM45 prism, four more lenses: 50, 60, 150 and 250. Three A12 backs, two Minolta meters, spot and incident/flash plus shades, filters and and my little knock-knacks like pens, notebooks and an asthma inhaler. I also own the a Domke RuggedWear which is a bit shorter in height and length. I'm using it for my Hasselblad digital but will be replacing it with a second one of these. One final note: I live in Mexico I so this bag cost me 40% more due to taxes and shipping than anyone living within the US and I'm still thrilled with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 20 years was pretty good... ...that's how long my first Domke F-1X lasted! Finally wore holes in the bottom and sides from years of pretty hard use! I'm an accident investigator and this bag serves as a camera bag/brief case/gear bag! Its seen it's share of dirt, gravel, asphalt, scorching summer heat, freezing winter cold and everything in between...and never failed to protect and guard my cameras, digital recorders and other essential tools. Plenty of room, durable, well organized and very customizable! Did I say it was tough as nails? Only thing I would change is to actually make it a little bit bigger...but then again I don't mind looking like a pack mule when I carry it around!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size and sturdy! This bag has plenty of gear for an event/wedding photographer. I was roped into photographing a wedding (haven't done one in 20 years) and needed a new bag that is easy to work with and holds enough equipment. I have a Canon 60D with mounted 24-70 2.8 Sigma lens and Battery Grip. Also have a 40D for backup, 4 more lenses including Sigma 70-200 f2.8, and they all fit comfortably and are easily accessible. I used a front pouch for 2 flashed, another for loads of spare batteries, and still have pouch space left! This bag also is heavy duty! It is easy to carry, and very well made. I will use this bag for a long time to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Domke comes through again When I needed a bag to store my ever expanding photo needs, I found just what I needed in the F1X Little Bit Bigger Classic Series Shoulder Bag. Domke bags have always been the choice for photographers to safeguard their gear while in the field. The F-1X has padded compartments for my two Nikon camera bodies, four lenses (six, if the bodies have lenses on them), and in my configuration, I have a speedlight comfortably nestled in there too. Plus pockets for filters, batteries, battery chargers, USB cords and more. I can't foresee a time when I would need anything else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Bag, Minor Problems I use the F-1X mainly for carrying a lot of gear for location shoots. Overall the bag is great. It is very tough, it does a good job of protecting the gear, and has ample room. It could be improved by increasing depth of the bag by about 2 and by increasing the size of the lens pockets in the included insert. These two improvements would make it easier to store and extract larger pro lenses (i.e., 70-200 f2.8). This lens, in particular, is too long and its diameter too large to easily fit in the pockets. Shorter lenses, such as the 85mm f1.4, are difficult to insert and extract from the lens pockets because they fit very tightly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bag I got this to replaced bulky backpack, that wouldn't fit as carry-on on plane. This is perfect fit. I would have a very hard time trying to fit 9 lenses in it however, unless you trust to put them in the outside pockets, but even then could only fit smaller primes. Quick access to lenses is great, but be careful when opening as the metal buckles can fly dangerously close to your glass (something to always be aware of). Would like more flexibility in changing size of padded compartments, these can be bought separately but for a hefty price. Overall love it though. Also, fits under seat of even small commuter planes which is perfect!! Great construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot bigger, actually! I've used Domke bags and inserts for years. They are very well made and don't wear out. You have easy and fast access to your gear without having to put the bag down, and the bag is light and comfortable to carry. The F-1X can carry more equipment than the original F-2. I use one or the other, depending on what I'll need to have with me, and sometimes I carry both bags. You may want to purchase an additional insert or two to configure the bag exactly to your liking. The bag is flexible that way, and the adjustable straps mean that you can carry a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens upright -- it sticks up a bit higher than the depth of the bag but you can still close the cover easily to protect all the contents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacing my Domke F-1 with an F-1X. I have used Domke Bags for over 30 years. My F-1 has carried my gear reliably and safely but with recent additions to my arsenal including two Nikon D500 bodies with grips and a Sigma ART 50-100 zoom lens I needed something larger. The F-1X easily holds the two D500 bodies and the zoom along with my other gear. The outer pockets in the front of the bag have flaps which protect the contents from moisture, handy if you are shooting GWAR or Ghoul, two bands that use fake blood and spray the audience with it. I have never had an issue with a Domke Bag and I expect none with the F-1X. I recommend this bag to any photographer who carries a lot of gear and wants good looks and protection for their gear.

What is the vertical height available in this bag? I can read the specs, but I can't tell which dimension - width or depth - is the vertical depth that will allow a zoom to be placed in it vertically. B&H: you should make the dimensions clearer.

I use NIKON D800's DSLRs mostly and I carry my 70-200 2.8 without a problem. The bag is really big and for most daily work I still use my old F-1 bag.

Does this bag come packed flat to be accomodated in a suitcase?
    Asked by: Bernardo S.
When I travel i put my gear in an airline size hard case with wheels. I pack my Domke bag in my luggage but stuff it with underwear and toiletries. No need to flatten it.

The olive version has different interior dimensions in the specs than the other colors - which are accurate?
    Asked by: Anonymous
I have an older (25 years older) version and the interiors seem very close in size. I have not put a tape to it, but they look the same.

Does the top cover zipper closed or is it just a flap? I work around debris filled environments and like a zipped closure.
    Asked by: Kevin
    This closes with a flap.

Hello is it possible to fit a 13 macbook pro in there somewhere? Thank you for your help!
    Asked by: Anonymous
Short Answer: Yes. Of course it all depends what and how you pack your bag. As you know, the bag does not have a laptop sleeve. I was able to fit my 13 MacBook Pro with sleeve. Also canon 5D Mark III with Grip, 16-35mm Lens attached. 24-105mm lens in Pouch, 600 EX-RT Flash, Battery Charger and Extra Batteries. Of course all this in the main compartment. I hope this helps.

I LOVE this bag but hate the clips on the straps. Pinch my fingers, pinch my gloves and are just all around difficult to me. Does Domke make replacement straps with the more commonly used buckle release style fasteners?
