  • 1Description

The Smith-Victor1000W Heat Resistant Softbox Light - 24 x 32" (120V AC) provides soft, even bright light. The SBQ1 Fixture for Softbox Light is the heart of the professional level continuous light source for photographers and videographers. It features a heavy duty ceramic mogul socket. The optional tungsten halogen linear bulb produces a non-directional beam with optimum softness.

The 3200° Kelvin bulbs are available as 500 or 1000 watts, for 120 or 230 AC voltage.

The stand mount bracket accepts any 5/8" Baby top stud. The tilt mechanism has an insulated handle and ratchet locking device.

Double envelope construction of the bulb -- outer envelope protects the inner bulb from damage from direct contact.
This rectangular softbox is suitable for a 1 - 2 person portrait or 2x3' still setup.

    Smith-Victor SBQ-2432 reviews

    1000W Heat Resistant Softbox Light - 24 x 32" (120V AC) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Our cheap workhorse Overall these lights do a good job for the money. We use them for a variety of corporate and commercial productions and they have been well worth the money. That said, they are cheap lights. We have owned 5 of them and 3 have had issues with the switch breaking or taking a few tries for it to even activate. I have talked to the people at S&V and they claim that have not heard about this issue, so it's possible we just have bad luck with them. Because they can be unreliable I would recommend having at least 1 or 2 as a backup in case your switch breaks. All in all we buy a few each year and just plan on them deteriorating. We certainly get our money's worth out of them in that time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gets the job done. We purchased a pair of these lights for our video production studio. They do a pretty good job lighting our 10x10 shooting area with soft, even light. As with most professional gear, you get what you pay for. These aren't the highest quality or most well constructed lights around, but they get the job done and they're great for an organization with a tight budget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product, Takes Time the First Time Overall i think it is a great product for the price and has worked out very well. However, the first time you set it up you better be prepared to spend about 45 minutes figuring out how it all goes together. It looks simple, but too a while to figure it out. The instructions are not very helpful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from switch issues I love creating portraits w/two of these same lights in a 12x36 size...that begin said, 2 of the 3 have fritzed out w/issues w/wiring...bulbs are fine but the signal is not making it through the wire so switch stops turning it on.
