Confused by " A 3:1 weight ratio is recommended for safe operation of Mini Max" ... 3:1 of what? Payload to ... ??? This would make sense if it was a boom with and sandbagging the short side.... but there is no short side???

If you have 10lbs mounted on the end of the arm, you need 30lbs weighting down the base.

Is this stable enough for camera use? Can it have a PTZ on the end of it for example and not sway or shake when the PTZ moves around?
Asked by: Ben
The general rule is that what you put on the boom should be half of the boom's support weight. Which is 20 lbs. So, a camera with the lens really should be 10 lbs. or less.

Just trying to clarify a few things - what is the weight of the minimax (same people say 45lbs, some say 25lbs?? Also is this truly 8ft at its highest (when parallel) and therefore equivalent to an 8ft stand with a boom arm (that can be angled to be higher while sacrificing a little distance)
Asked by: Jim
MiniMax weighs 44lbs. You are correct about the reach, It’s horizontal reach is at 8ft but can angle higher while sacrificing that bit of distance. Check out the info at www.msegrip.com

When completely collapsed and laying on its side, how tall is it off the floor? I would like to slide it under something in my truck.
Asked by: James
The lowest profile of the collapsed Mini Max is 6.25" tall(laying on its back). Laying on its side the height is 7.25" due to the rocky mountain leg t-handle sticking up.
