  • 1Description

The Raynox HD-5050PRO Super Wide Angle Conversion Lens is designed to broaden the angle of view, including 100% more area in the picture, when attached to the lens of a Digital Video Camcorder. The HD-5050PRO is made of the high-index optical glass elements using a unique three-group/four-element lens formula. This concept in lens design makes it possible to achieve an amazing high definition wide-angle lens with 600 lines/mm resolution, and it maintains focus through the entire zoom range of any camcorder. To ensure broad compatibility, the lens includes 6-adapter rings for 25mm, 27mm, 30mm, 30.5mm, 37mm, and 43mm filter size Camcorders.

    Raynox HD-5050PRO reviews

HD-5050PRO, 37mm, 0.5x, Super Wide Angle Conversion Lens is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broaden Your Horizons! I just purchased the Raynox HD-5050 PRO 0.5X as a replacement for a Sony wide angle lens lens with 0.6X magnification. The Raynox broadens the angle of view by almost 30%, compared to the Sony, and the optics are razor sharp!I tested the lens at the Jacksonville Zoo, filming in 16X9 format. The Raynox HD-5050 PRO produced sweeping panoramic vistas of the zoo's natural animal habitat exhibits, and maintained full HD quality when zooming in for close-ups of the animal's faces. My Sony Camcorder has a 30 mm front thread, so I am using the 37 mm step up adapter ring included with the lens.Since I am using a step up, as opposed to a step down adapter, I experienced NO vignetting....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wide Lens I use this lense for skydiving on an Sony HDR-HC3 and the results so far are excellent. The ability to keep the quality of HD and focus thru the entire zoom range is critical in my occupation. Am very impressed with the images shot in HD thru this lens. It is slightly wider then the last .5x that I used, almost like a .45x with very little to no distorsion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is you need ! , (not the 0.7x) I bought the SONY 37/30mm x0.7 WIDE-END CONVERSION LENS as well as this one and I HAVE COMPARED using my SONY HDR CX520. The 0.7x in some conditions not provides a enought wide angle that you will have with this 0.5x. There is no significant image distorsion and you can use all zoom interval. A good money inversion, the lens all cams need, a new world for your images...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lens works great Image quality on my Vixia hs10 in full 1060 30p shooting shows great color, sharpness, and saturation as well with little distortion at the widest setting and no fall off in the corners. I use it to document social events and does a great job showing large group in big spaces and the activities going on. Also it zooms though the full range of from tight to wide shots with no problems, and great for walking with the camera on a stabelizer

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor lens I purchased this conversion lens to use on a Canon HV30.The resolution is terrible- about a 25% reduction in center, a 4 to 5 pixel blur at edges.Severe vignetting, even with all adapters removed.Bad chromatic aboration.Need to use it with out the adapter rings. Result is that the back of the lens rubs against the HV30 shutter.Check out this link: @ returned it and bought the Canon version. The Canon is not as wide angle, but a good HD lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good lens If you want wide, this is the lens to buy. It does lose some quality, but not enough to not want to buy this lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad. The standard threads on the lens are 37mm, but it comes with multiple adapters, including a 37mm to 37mm adapter. If that adapter is used, I found there to be some minor vignetting in the corners with the camera I'm using (Sony HDR xr260). With out the adapter the smaller lens touches the camera body. I ended up using a very thin washer/spacer to prevent the lens from touching. Other than that the only issue that some might not like is the barrel distortion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the expected quality Was planning use this lens on a Sanyo VCC-HD4600 (4Mp) IP camera. But it gives poor picture quality, even relative close to the center of the picture. It's of no use on a HD camera when it degrades the picture quality so bad. With the adapter ring there was some vignetting, better without the adapter ring. But the HD4600 has a relative large lens(and only 37mm adapter ring), so that may be the main reason for vignetting.
