    TC Electronic M350 reviews

    M350 Dual-Engine Multi-Effects and Reverb Processor is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sounding & Intuitive I primarily use effect in live situations. Compared to the Lexicon MX200, I find the TC to have better sounding effects- Excellent for the price in fact. Also, I love the Dynamic Delay which outputs the delay in reverse proportion to the signal level coming in- So it mostly adds the delay effect at the end of a phrase, etc- which keeps the delay from muddling the 'busy' parts of a song. Also, it's very easy to use, with elliptical shaped knobs to vary the effect parameters, a tap-tempo button and so on. One thing I prefer on the Lexicon MX200 is that the outputs can be routed in a way the M350 cannot do. For example, I prefer to return each effect to an individual channel input on a board- and then vary the quantity of reverb vs. delay or whatever effect via the channel fader. The TC sums both engines to stereo, whether the engines are set up serial or parallel, whereas the Lexicon can be kept on separate channels. A way to deal with that is to use the knob on the front of the TC that changes the effect balance between the two engines... a small hassle. In any case, of all the inexpensive effects units I've used, this is my favorite due to the 'non-cheap' sounding, high quality TC sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sounds good This unit sounds pretty good but I think my old Alesis Nanoverb sounds better, more rich. I would have bought another Alesis Nanoverb except they took away the time knob on the Nanoverb2 and replaced it with presets only. I like that the Tcelectronic m350 gives you complete control so you can dial in just what you want, I bought it mainly because of the timing knob on the delay engine, Sounds good, just could be a little richer sounding but it works well and I have already recorded vocal tracks for two songs with it, maybe u just need more time to get used to the sound, would I buy again? If the Alesis Nanoverb 2 had a timing knob I would buy it over this unit but since it doesn't, yes, I would buy this unit again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Intuituve Layout Is Priceless! I am using the M350 in a project studio, where it is replacing TWO old Behringer processors (Virtualizer and Modulizer). The quality of the effects is acceptable, although the reverbs are nowhere near as good as the Lexicon MX200 that I also own, and which sells for about the same price. The main thing that this unit has going for it is the intuitive layout and ease of use (it far surpasses the Lexicon in this respect). Every control is clearly labelled with a knob on the front panel, instead of forcing you to dig through a million menus on a tiny LCD to find the parameter you need to adjust. A million props to TC Electronic for finally getting this right. One word of warning: there is no way to set the unit to work as two totally independent mono processors. You can set the multieffects block and the reverb block to work seperately on inputs 1 and 2 (for use as two aux sends on a mixer, for example), but the output from the two processes is always merged into a single stereo pair. I am extremely happy with this product overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely recommended for those on a budget For those who don't have a thousand dollars to spend on the professional recording equipment but still don't want to compromise to the level of sounding like an ATARI game from the 80s (though, that might not be THAT bad...), this reverb processor is the way to go. We've got it setup as a true dual engine in that one Aux channel controls the delay/compression, and the second Aux channel controls the actual reverb and both are independant of the other and available on each channel in the mixer. I've only needed to use the presets because those fit the sound we were looking for in terms of live vocals and guitar, but I know there are means to tweak it if I needed to. The sound is great and was exactly what we were looking for and all of it within our budget. I definitely recommend the M350 if your looking to add reverb/compression to your mix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for live to two track! I needed an option for an old school fx send for live two track recording that doesn't require a computer or plug ins. It is great for that. I like the knobs more than a lot of Windows that are hard to read. The sound is clean and musical. I will also be using it on guitar and piano in some live performances as well. I think it's a great piece of gear and a great value at B&H Photo Video Pro Audio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great I did quite a bit of research on these and among users this one got the highest marks on sound quality (among similarly priced processors). I am really satisfied with it, the effects are nice and clear, ease of use is really a plus, and I haven't played much guitar without it recently. Would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Too Impressed I purchased the M350 for two reasons. First, I was on a limited budget, and foremost, I needed a rack mountable unit that could be used for Vocals on the fly in a live situation. It would be placed on stage, no sound man. I use, on average, 5 settings per show, altering each slightly depending on room size, crowd size, etc. This meaning no 4 multifunction button units with layers of menus, crazy space effects and reverse drum plates etc. The M350 seemed to be the answer. Very professional looking brushed aluminum face (No pink graphics), and the knobs are GREAT as they are oblong making it extremely easy to observe levels at a glance. The display is lacking as you need to remember that program #16 equals Johnny's Basement and so on because you can't name the presets. Keep a cheat sheet on stage. You'll also need a rack light as the graphics are impossible to read in low light conditions. Small issues, I know, I knew of these before deciding to purchase, but the M350 REALLY fails where it counts...overall performance. Until now I've been using an old Digitech studio twin, circa 1985 (Yeah I know, but it just won't die!) and let me note, it still sounds more natural than the M350. The M350's reverbs all sound as if you're in a giant tin can, you can't generate a soft natural reverb to save your life. The delay trails are all flangy and harsh, and it just gets worse from there. The controls are hyper sensitive and I couldn't imagine using anything over the first 1/3 of any setting unless your doing the sound production for your local haunted house. Also, the presets may as well been named after fruits. Live Vocal... Studio Reverb... REALLY? Unusable and over the top even in a noisy crowded bar room. I couldn't imagine this thing in my home recording rig. I didn't review the M350 to bash it. I just figure that anyone considering buying a unit in this price range, doesn't have money to waste on products they won't be happy with and I'm letting you in on my experience. I've had the unit a couple of months. I've used it for 11 live performances to give it a fair shake, but the Studio Twin is going back into the rack until I find something else. In all fairness, look at the price. Got what I paid for. I'll let my son use it for his band practice and call it a lesson learned.
