    SanDisk SDDRX3-3IN1R reviews

Extreme USB 2.0 Card Reader is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazing fast and simple use! I used to use my camera to make the transfers from memory card to computer. Then I got back from a trip to Europe with about 650 pictures, and I think it took longer to transfer the pictures than the trip itself took! That's when I decided to order this card reader. It's proven to be exactly what I want out of technology - easy to use, no learning curve, and does exactly what I wanted it to do. It was simply a matter of plugging it into a USB port, inserted the memory card, and the pictures were accurately transferred in no time at all. It's also small, light, and has no bells and whistles other than what it's supposed to do - another thing I look for (and rarely find) in today's technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a Champ! The reader is super quick, requires no driver installation and makes using adobe bridge an absolute delight. I used to just connect my canon 20d to my computer, but that was pathetically slow and didn't allow me to preview, upload, or edit the raw shots I took without using canon's painful software. I would have snagged the firewire version but my laptop doesn't have a firewire port. Anyways, if you haven't bought a card reader, this is an inexpensive, quality item. I have a 2gb lexar 80x card and this setup is plenty fast. It's nice cause I can put my wife's sd card from her compact digital in it and that's speedy too. The only issue I can foresee is that the cord is only around 2.5 ft. long, but that should be plenty in most setups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best money ever spent I use it mainly to download photos in RAW from my SLR's CF cards, but also JPGs from my digicam's SD cards as well as uploading mp3 and jpg files to my Motorola Rocker phone's micro SD card (with SD adapter). The speed with which it downloads the RAW files is like lightning compared to hooking up the camera directly to the PC, plus I'm saving my camera's battery. I also like the fact that I can keep it plugged into one of the USB ports all the time and just pull out the cards without having to go through the Safely Remove Hardware on the PC every time. And it doesn't take up much space.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT Road worthy. I've gone through two of these already. Out of the box it is excellent. Yes, fast transfer. But the mini-USB port on the back of the unit is NOT robust. Very weak. After extended road use, the connection between the USB cable and the reader gets wonky, and the unit loses connection with the laptop, often during image transfer (I work on the run, out of the back of a van or in an airplane -- not a desk). Its predescessor with USB printer style port on the back of the reader is MUCH MORE robust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I was looking for cheap, fast, and convenient transfer of CF and SD cards and found it. The unit is small and light, quickly mounts and only adds two drive letters. Transfer speeds are certainly faster than using the camera (Canon 40d) I would prefer a unit without a cable since I move this between multiple computers but that's a minor hassle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slower than expected I already own the Sandisk Compact Flash Card Reader/Writer (Type I & II) - USB 2 , i was hoping this Reader would be as fast if not faster, however, so far i have been disappointed, it is much much slower than the other reader and on a few occasions it wont read the CF card at all and i need to remove the USB 2.0 plug before it will read the card.I like the design, i like the fact it reads both my SD and CF cards but dumping images considerably slower is a major downside, i will be reverting back to the other reader for my CF card dumps and this for SD dumps. Expertise: Professional Photographer Problems Encountered: On a few occasions the reader will not read the card. Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! Smokin! I unloaded from a shoot on Saturday with my old reader, it took about 25 min to unload my shots(3gb). Today i unloaded about 5gb and it took no more than 5 min. I couldn't count as fast as the 4mp shots were transferring. Great product, and i wish i would have bought it earlier. Best 20 dollar photo related investment ever! With my old reader i wasn't able to view the thumbnails on the card, and i always thought it was a card thing. But with this the thumb nails open almost instantly when i open the folder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really boosts SanDisk CF Cards! I did a few performance tests and was pleasantly surprised.Point of reference is a Sony CF reader in my desktop PC,which gives a consistent 9MB/sec.With this SanDisk reader, the performance jumped 18% (to11.0MB/sec) for a 4MB Lexar 133x Pro CF card. Moreimpressive, a 2MB SanDisk Extreme III card accelerated by awhopping 42% (to 15.3MB/sec).
