The Bosch VIP10S2010 single channel video encoder is similar to the Bosch VIPX1A model except that it encodes at S-VHS quality compared to the DVD resolution available on the standard model. This unit accepts any NTSC or PAL security camera for transmitting video and audio over a network. Video is encoded into two separate streams allowing a user to transmit at high quality while recording at low quality or vice versa, depending on a particular application.
Video can be recorded to a local USB storage device for quick transfer or to any PC hard drive or DVR over the network. A single audio stream is encoded along with the video, and with the addition of a microphone and speaker, an operator can hear and speak with a person at the camera location. A number of alarm and relay sensors can be attached to trigger a visual and audible alarm and to activate devices such as locking and unlocking a door following an event.
