FSR Eagle 320HD Multi-Layer Seamless Switcher with (2) Mixer Effect Boards & HD-SDI Output

The Eagle 320HD Multi-Layer Seamless Switcher with (2) Mixer Effect Boards & HD-SDI Output from FSR is a 3U rackmount multi-layer seamless switcher intended for use in live-event applications. This unit is based on a modular design concept to meet your needs yet allows for an affordable upgrade path to match changing or expanding requirements. The system consists of (3) primary components: a system controller, a video processor, and a matrix switch.

This model includes (2) mixer effect cards in the video processor with the capacity to upgrade to a total of (3) of these boards. The card allows for multiple layers of picture-in-picture and key effects with a native-resolution background and a downstream key on screen at any one time. Each board accommodates (2) SD/HD-SDI inputs, (2) universal analog inputs, and (2) DVI-D native resolution inputs. Up to (6) video processors can be used with a single controller for multi-screen applications and ultra-wide screen edge-blended displays. This unit also includes HD-SDI outputs.

One or more matrix switchers can also be used simultaneously with this unit, allowing task-specific or signal-specific matrix units to be mixed with general purpose units in a seamless manner that is invisible to the operator. The controller supports events by giving integrated control of processors and matrix switchers.

Other features include an Athena proprietary scaling engine, which offers a low video delay of less than (3) input fields, 10-bit processing, 1:1 pixel sampling, SD/HD motion adaptive deinterlacing, and 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down detect. It supports up to (6) independent effects layers, including look-ahead preview, on-screen preview of layer information, full Z-order control, and transition effects such as cut, dissolve, and wipe.

Picture-in-picture functionality includes user-defined size and placement, true crop, and aspect ratio correction. User-adjustable border attributes offer control of style and color, softness, drop shadow, placement, and opacity. Animation position and sizing can be controlled via key frames or via PIP clone (mirror and offset).

Key functionality includes 10-bit luminance key, split key (key alpha and fill), reverse key (key on background), color key (graphics), and alpha mixing. Native resolution downstream key is possible independent of PIP and key processing channels. Edge blending features include 10-bit processing, variable overlap region, support for overlapped and standard backgrounds, and edge-feathering for a seamless appearance. Output synchronization can be free-run or vertically locked to NTSC and PAL blackbursts.
