Akai Professional MPC500 Overview

The Akai MPC500 packs the high-quality sampling and sequencing features found in other MPC series workstations into an ultra-compact unit that's perfect for a variety of mobile applications. With 12 velocity and pressure sensitive pads, creating expressive work with the MPC500 is a snap. Analog audio inputs and outputs let you connect everything from mics and CD players to amplifiers, mixers, and speakers. MIDI connectors are supplied for interfacing with digital instruments, and a USB port provides easy file transfers with Macs and PCs.

Able to run continuously for over four hours on six AA batteries, the MPC500 comes complete with a 32-voice sampler that records 16-bit/44.1kHz WAV files for CD-quality sound. Up to 99 sequences with 48 tracks each can be created for a total of 100,000 notes. The MPC500 comes with 16MB of internal RAM. A CompactFlash slot is also provided for storage on type I or II CompactFlash cards. A 128MB CompactFlash card is included.
