Cavision 0.6x Industrial Wide-Angle Adapter Lens

I use this for 4K video with an FZ1000 (24mm-400mm equiv), and a 1 sensor. A step up ring is needed. When shooting 4K, the 1 sensor auto crops, increasing the effective F.L. from 24mm to 37mm. This adapter widens that 37mm to about 22mm, restoring the wide angle coverage. The downside are that some barrel distortion and some chromatic aberration are introduced. For landscapes this is very acceptable for my needs. No vignetting occurs.For stills, the 24mm lens is widened to about 16mm. But distortion and CA are noticeably more pronounced that when shooting in the crop sensor 4K mode. Distortion can be largely removed in ACR or LR, and CA can be reduced some but is still pretty evident, especially towards the edges. Limitations. The CA and distortion are simply the nature of the beast. This adapter is much better than the very cheapo adapters. A $$ converter lens would be fine, but would be inappropriate for and $$ camera. Bottom line. Recommended for video if the camera lens/sensor is limited on its wide end. Not recommended to try to make an honest wide angle into a super-wide.
