Comprehensive / Kramer VP-727 8x2:3 In-CTRL Dual Scaler Seamless Switcher

The VP-727 8x2:3 In-CTRL Dual Scaler Seamless Switcher from Comprehensive/Kramer is a dual scaler and seamless switcher that supports multi-standard video to graphics translation and offers (8) universal inputs. Each input can accommodate a composite video, S-video (Y/C), component video (RGB/YUV), RGBS, or RGBHV signal. The dual scaler consists of one unit for preview and another for output. This dual configuration is essential for live, seamless transitions from one source to another.

The scaler's preview and program signals are each simultaneously output as a DVI-D signal on a DVI-I connector and as an RGBHV/YUV signal on both a set of (5) BNC connectors and an HD-15F connector. This unit features Kramer's K-Storm scaling technology, allowing for high-quality 3:2 and 2:2 pull down de-interlacing and full up and down scaling of computer graphics and video input signals. It also features Kramer's K-IIT picture-in-picture Image insertion technology, allowing any video source to be inserted into a computer graphics video source and vice versa with positioning and sizing controls available to the user. This feature includes split-screen functionality, as well.

This unit offers multiple aspect ratio selection: 4x3 or 16x9, anamorphic, letter box, and user definable settings. A built-in time base corrector stabilizes video sources with unstable sync. A built-in processing amplifier allows precise control of color, hue, sharpness, contrast, and brightness for each input. Other features include front-panel lockout, video blanking, freeze frame, and zoom.

The switcher can be controlled via front-panel buttons, an IR remote control, Ethernet, RS-232, and RS-485. This unit works with a worldwide power supply (100-240V AC). It will fit in any standard 19" rack and occupies 3U of rack space.
