Chimera Birdcage Lantern Overview

The 500W maximum Chimera Birdcage Lantern Light Bank was inspired by a working cinematographer and refined by Chimera's engineers. The innovative design offers flexible use: hang it, stand it up, lay it down, or put it on a stand with the Chimera #3860 stand adapter. The light can be shaped with the adjustable black/silver skirt, adding a glow where you desire a small to moderate area of soft accent light. This 120 VAC Chimera Birdcage stands approximately 14" (35.5 cm) tall.

Comes complete with a Mogul Base fixture for 500-watt lamps plus a screw-in adapter to allow the use of standard household lamps (stand adapter and lamp not included).

Will the handle fit on the knuckle of a grip arm?
Asked by: Geoff
It will fit, but it will be a loose fit; the Birdcage will hang and swing if mounted so. There is a short 5/8 spud on the bottom though, and that will fit into the knuckle.

I bought the recommended mogul base 500w/120V, but it doesn't fit. What bulb is supposed to go with it?
Asked by: Geoff
That's the bulb that I use. Not quite sure why yours doesn't fit. Is the bulb's base too large or too small?
