Chimera Triolet Overview

The Chimera Triolet Mogul Base Flood Light accepts Mogul base bulbs up to 1000 watts. The included screw-in adapter may be used for household bulbs. There is an optional 2-pin adapter for halogen bulbs up to 1000 watts.

This is a fixture designed for use with 120 VAC current. It has an Edison grounded plug and in-line switch. Its speed ring adapter is designed for rectangular, heat-resistant softboxes. An optional protective glass dome is available, but limits halogen use to 650 watts.

Compatible with light banks, lanterns, or without a modifier for a bare-bulb light effect.
Versatile
  • May be used with a Chimera Lantern, or VideoPro series softbox.
  • Also compatible with the Photoflex Silverdome or Westcott FV2 series heat resistant softboxes.
    • Stand Adapter
    Comes equipped with the Chimera Single Axis Stand Adapter which allows tilt and swivel of the fixture.

    Absolutely wonderful softbox--high quality and well thought out kit. Easy to assemble and everything fits together well. With any bulb installed, the light is perfectly diffused. All of the velcro fits well and the stitching is what you expect from a Chimera. The head is beautifully designed and finished. It looks good just sitting by itself. Mine came with a heavy duty Matthews stand. Both bags are of high quality too. I've used 500 watt bulbs with no problem, but I use LED bulbs now. Less heat and I'm shooting video and I don't want to bake the subjects! You can't go wrong with a Chimera.
