TV One C2-2155 Down Converter PLUS

The C2-2155 Down Converter PLUS from TV One is a scan converter designed to take DVI, analog computer, or HDTV signals and convert them into standard video formats. Video outputs are switchable between NTSC and PAL and are simultaneously provided in Composite video, S-Video, and YUV Component video. The output can also be switched to YPbPr Component (progressive scan). A PC loop-thru is also provided. This model also features such special features as chromakey mode, lumakey mode, mix mode, and picture-in-picture viewing. This unit differs from the C2-2150 in the addition of an SDI output.

This unit features a unique "AutoSet" feature that virtually automates the setup process by sizing and positioning the computer image to fit exactly on the video screen. An additional benefit is that all of these settings are stored in non-volatile memory and retained even when the power is switched off. The converter offers a number of control options, including a front, push-button panel, an infrared remote control unit, and via RS-232 or IP connection. A Windows-based control panel is provided and most third-party control systems will interface directly with the unit. Moreover, a front LCD panel facilitates management of the system.

Variable zoom to 10X allows any part of the computer screen to fill the entire video screen, variable shrink to as little as 10% allows the image to fit on practically any screen, and position controls allow you to move the image to any desired area. Advanced digital-flicker elimination circuitry and a high sampling rate ensure crisp, clear images while full-bandwidth chroma sampling ensures faithfully reproduced colors. The unit's Genlock feature offers precise synchronization of incoming signals by providing a wide subcarrier lock range with subcarrier phase adjustment.

This converter features the CORIO2 video-processing engine, a proprietary technology from TV One. While most manufacturers use third-party chipsets to provide video conversion, TV One has developed its own solution to extend the functionality and life of its products. Products based on third-party chipsets have frozen features sets, but the CORIO2 is entirely firmware-based and can be upgraded at any time by downloading the latest firmware version from the web site and flash upgrading the unit in the field. Additionally, all of the models in this series allow for input expansion by use of an appropriate S2 Series Input Switcher.
