This is my 2nd 210M press and I can say that this model is the best press I've ever used. the large work area is great for lots of different applications including Comic Book pressing and apparel transfers.

Worth the Money

I resisted buying this because of the price and that fact that it was going to be an occasional use. I printed a 13x39 photo and mounted it my usual way, with double sided adhesive paper. Tedious and time consuming. The photo lifted off in the center with a large 2 inch patch five days after the mount. This precipitated the purchase of the 210M Dry Mount. What a good decision. It takes a 90 seconds to mount the same photo, quick, easy, no mess. The unit heats up quickly and it done in no time. I view the mount like a tool. You don't use tools all the time but when you need it, it's there. I should have bought it a year ago. D & K also has excellent technical service.

Just finished my first Arts and Craft Show, wish was a Success. The Dry Mount Press was fantastic! For two days the machine got a great work out. The photos on the Mount Boards were so impressive. When compared with professionally done prints with mine you could not tell the difference. Buy this machine if you are a serious photographer who loves to prepare the photos for display. I use this to attach my black & white prints to mat board for framing. It does a great job and my prints are nice and flat.

Workhorse

This dry mounting press has been around for many years, in other incarnations (Bienfang, Seal...). The D&K product is still the solid, dependable workhorse that will give good service whether in a framing shop or for an amateur photographer who wants to display their work. It costs, after all, less than a good mirrorless body...

question

This can be used in Europe too, or its made from USA voltage?
Asked by: Florian M.
I doubt if it would work with 220 or 240 voltage without a transformer. And even with a transformer, there might be issues over wattage. This unit really sucks watts out of a wall socket! I would suggest you be very cautious in buying any dry mount press that isn't designed for your electrical system.

D&K bought out Seal Co. and kept some of the same model names for the products now produced by D&K, including the 210M Commercial Dry Mounting Press.

question

can one person move this item
Asked by: Anonymous
The unit weighs close to 75lbs. I would recommend that two people be present to move it. A single strong person could perhaps lift it momentarily if they have the upper body strength, but in general I would not advise to lift that weight alone.

question

Can this press be used to mount digital prints and what kind of sealant paper is used to mount them?
Asked by: Arlene P.
yes absolutely, use a dry mount tissue you can buy in either pre-cut sheets or by the roll. I use 16x20 sheets and mount to foam board.

question

What is the largest print you can dry mount? How do you dry mount prints that are larger than 18 x 23?
Asked by: Richard
I do a lot of 16x20 prints, but to do larger than that , say a 20x30, you just pass the print through the press and do it in sections. Just make sure you don't over lap the mounting tissue if it's not large enough to cover your entire size, or you will see a line in your final print.
