Vixen Optics ED100Sf 4"/100mm Refractor Telescope Optical Tube Assembly

The Vixen Optics ED100Sf is an excellent choice for an amateur astronomer wanting the best value in a 4" apochromatic refractor telescope.  It travels well, as a relatively compact unit, and doubles as a great terrestrial spotting scope from stationary positions or for very short hikes.

The ED100Sf offers similar high quality glass and workmanship that Vixen Optics incorporates into their larger instruments.  Because of its apochromatic refractor optical design, images are free from chromatic aberration, and it renders high resolution planetary, lunar, and deep-sky visual images.  The 4" aperture combined with the ED glass means you can expect brilliant high-magnification planetary views as well as good nebula and galaxy observing.

The ED100Sf is immediately ready for imaging; you can attach a Vixen T-mount directly to the focuser, but more commonly it is possible to use the included flip mirror with a T-mount on the back.

The ED100Sf comes complete with tube rings and a dovetail mounting plate that joins the tube rings together and attaches to any Vixen mount or to Celestron's CG-5 or Meade's LXD75 mounts.  Rounding out the package is a 9x50 finderscope with bracket, a Vixen flip mirror system, and a custom-fit aluminum case.  All you'll need to begin observing is a mount and at least one 1.25" eyepiece.
