The Panasonic WJ-HD220/16 is an industrial grade 8-channel digital video recorder suitable for a wide range of commercial surveillance applications. The DVR includes a 160GB hard drive and uses various compression schemes to extend recording times. To further save on storage space, this DVR supports a time lapse mode which can be set to record at regular timed intervals. Another unique feature of the DVR, is its ability to control Panasonic PTZ cameras via the standard BNC cable without requiring an RS-485/232 control port.
Time-Lapse Mode
In addition to various HDD space saving methods, this unit offers a time lapse mode, which can be set to record video frames at regular timed intervals. This is a unique feature useful in security and other video applications.
Coaxial PTZ Control
An optional WV-CU650 or WV-CU360C controller unit can be used to control up to 4 Panasonic PTZ dome cameras connected to this unit via their standard BNC connection without requiring a specialized RS-485/232 control protocol.
Network Connection
A network connection allows camera viewing and control from a remote Internet location. Any function available from the DVR's front panel can be done easier and more efficiently over the network using a mouse and keyboard. The network program also provides additional features like image storage on a PC, alarm notification and the ability to use date, time and camera channels to quickly search a list of up to 9,999 alarms. Installing Panasonic's optional WV-AS20 FTP viewer software offers even more capabilities including the ability to control up to 10 DVRs and preset image download times.
Digital Zoom
Images can be brought into close view using a 4x electronic zoom.
Simultaneous Operation
Images from all 8 cameras can be simultaneously recorded, viewed live, played back and accessed over a network.
Pre Alarm Screen
If you need to quickly locate a crucial piece of footage, this function can be used to display five seconds of images recorded right before an alarm was received from an external sensor or by its internal motion detector. If multiple alarms are received at the same time, images from all affected cameras are captured.
