The Panasonic WV-NP244 i-Pro high-resolution network camera offers a perfect alternative to conventional cameras. Not only does it provide remote Internet viewing and control, but because it is software based, recording and switching are all handled by PC's over the network, eliminating the need for costly, add-on peripherals. The camera supports simultaneous MPEG-4/MJPEG dual streaming, allowing a user to view live in the fast MPEG-4 format while recording in the higher resolution MJPEG compression scheme. A user can also choose one over the other depending on a particular requirement or available network bandwidth.

Simultaneous MPEG-4 and MJPEG Video Streaming
This allows a user to view live video in the efficient MPEG-4 format while recording is taking place in the higher resolution MJPEG format. A user can also choose one over the other to suit a particular need or network environment. In MJPEG mode, video transmission is possible at speeds up to 30 FPS.
Built-In Microphone
A built-in microphone provides audio along with video monitoring. Audio sensitivity can be set to low, middle or high.
SD Memory Card Slot
In the event of network down time, the camera will store images to an optional SD Memory up to 1GB in capacity. These images will auto transfer to an FTP server once the network is restored. Image transfer to the SD card can also be done manually with the click of a mouse.
Multi-Camera Viewing
A single browser can handle up to 8 cameras with a client able to view up to 4 moving images on one screen at a time.
Multi-Client Access with Password Protection
Up to 8 clients can access a single camera simultaneously over the network for viewing and control, with an elaborate password protection system determining the level of access for general users and administrators.
PoE (Power over Ethernet)
PoE uses the standard LAN cable to power the camera, eliminating the need for a separate power supply and keeping the camera running in the event of a power failure.
Digital Zoom
With the click of the mouse from a remote Internet PC, a user can activate the camera's digital zoom to bring objects of interest into close view. Images can be magnified digitally 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x and 3x.
Motion Detector with Email Notification
A built-in motion detector will activate an alarm when movement is sensed. Motion detection is fully programmable for area, sensitivity and direction. At the event of an alarm, an Email notification can be sent to up to four designated Internet addresses. An alarm event can also be used to activate external devices or to trigger recording to Panasonic's WJ-ND300 Network Disk Recorder.
