My hobby is shooting high school football games, and after getting caught in a couple of unexpected downpours this season, I purchased these rainsleeves. Pros: I was very pleased that these fit, with room to spare, over my camera body & my lenses. These are a Canon 7D MKII, and an f/2.8 70-200mm telephoto. I also use an f/4.5 400mm. The design on having the sleeve form a downward angle for your arm is key in being able to maneuver when you're getting prepared to put it over your equipment. Cons: You probably don't want to get caught in a storm with no dry place to put this on. It takes a couple of minutes, especially with having to place the eyecup over the sleeve, and to insure you have the opening with the drawstring firmly secured. Summary: I really like these. They offer an inexpensive alternative to me since I'll only be using them for a few weeks each year in the fall. For people that are shooting wildlife or landscape during bad weather, these would do very well. Word of caution...the plastic is quite thin.

Don't leave home without it!

Rainsleeves and affordable, light weight, and fully functional. Carry one always, and save your gear from a sudden downpour. I am a marine photographer - I get wet A LOT and I swear by this essential piece of kit

instead of expensive heavy sleeves, prefer to have a simple one like this

Is it raining?  Buy this now and save the camera and lens.

If you shoot in the rain, this is a simple solution (it's a reusable transparent bag). I can't find the plastic gage but it is pretty thick. This one will take lens' up to 7 inches in DIAMETER and up to 18 inches in length. I have a Canon 100-400 lens. The cameera and lens fit in this bag AND I can still shoot.

very good.

For that kind of money and such good quality. I am very happy.

Very Inexpensive Protection

It is a bit clunky to operate my Nikon D500 & zoom lenses inside this sheath, but I don't trust the supposed weather sealing that isn't really advertised by Nikon when taking my gear to rainy Iceland and getting in the spray zone of waterfalls and geysers. Instead of just the drawstrings, I use rubber bands to hold the sturdy plastic in place while zooming.

Do I need this if I have a weather sealed camera and lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would think not, that's why it's water sealed. But if you don't trust that feature then use it.

question

Can a lens hood still be attached to the lens with the sleeve on?
Asked by: Ian
Yes, the opening of the sleeve is large and draws down with a drawstring. The sleeve covered the lens hood, 150-600 lens, camera and the top of the tripod.
