    Bowens BW-6610 reviews

10' Compact Light Stand (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice medium duty stand These are definitely some nice stands. For basic speedlite duty they will be more that sturdy enough and should be able to handle a medium to largish softbox with ease. Construction/finish quality is superb. Sections slide with a very precision feel and the aluminum, not plastic, section clamps hold secure without having to over-tighten. The legs unfold very easily, unlike some of the other stands that I have looked at which seemed to stick and were kind of a pain. I couldn't find a footprint spec so, with the legs fully extended, I measured from the end of one of the legs to the center of the post and came up with 22 for a 44 diameter. I don't know if that's how they are officially measured for spec's, but it should give you an idea of the actual footprint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice location stand I use these stands for location lighting - they were the sturdiest and largest stands I could find that would fit inside my Tamrac 661 medium rolling studio case and still extend high enough for lighting standing people. Quality is on a par with Manfrotto stands I have used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and solid, yet ultra portable This isn't a Manfrotto or Avenger, but for the price you can't ask for much more -- solid aluminum construction. Easily supports my Gemini Pro Monolights, although you may want to throw sandbags on them for extra stability. I use four of these and appreciate their compactness and portability for my location works. There are limitations -- I wouldn't even consider putting a boom arm on one of these, nor my Bowens Octo 150 5' Umbrella Softbox. I have a heavy duty Avenger stand for that. However, for using basic monolights with a brolly, standard softbox or reflectors attached, you can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, sturdy stand I ordered several more of these sturdy, easy to extend light stands after using my first two for a year. The extender knobs are easy to turn and hold the extended poles securely in place. The poles extend smoothly. They are easy to collapse and fold up for storage. The black finish is still in good shape despite being thrown into a stand bag and carried with other stands. I use these stands primarily to hold speedlites and umbrellas (requires umbrella adaptor and cold shoe for the flash), and they have worked well for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for on the go This 10' stand is perfect for on the go shoots. It is nicely compact (compared to most stands) and works well for both our 650's & 250's. It is nice & light as well. For most shoots we are doing the 10' ft height limit works just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Light Duty Stand I already had two of these that came in a kit. I upgraded the light stands and now have three of these - a matched set - for my 10x20' backgrounds. This third stand supports the middle of my two cross bars (to hand the background 20' wide). It's also a great light stand when needed, but it is a bit lightweight and I've had two occasions where the wind has blown the stand with a soft box on it over even with 7lbs of counter weight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value This is a great value if you're looking for an inexpensive stand. I ordered three to use under light duty and they perform great! While they are not heavy duty, don't forget the price point. If you're looking for heavy duty, be prepared to pay the price. If light duty (but sturdy) will fit the bill, buy these!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy affordable option Used them days after they arrived and are a great step up from my old flimsy stands. The wide base makes them sturdier at full extension and are still a managable closed length. Some say lightweight, their not, but their also not heavy. Just the weight of a solid piece of equipment.
