Rated 2 out of 5 by from Second one to break I have purchased two of these. Both worked just fine for a while, then stopped working. Wouldn't heat up when plugged in. Appears as if the wiring came loose inside. The second one quit after two years of moderate use. Will not buy this model again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Less Expensive Alternative Being new to dry mounting I found I needed a tacking iron to avoid misalignment of photos during the mounting process. The Seal iron cost almost twice a much as this iron so I ordered this one although I don't know how long it will last. So far I think it will not receive heavy use. It did not come with any instructions and that would have been helpful to a new user like myself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from doesn't get hot enough this is a nice enough tacking iron, but it doesn't get hot enough. I had one with temperature control that I've used for many years. It finally died on me and I couldn't find a replacement, so decided to try this. I'm disappointed as it doesn't get hot enough to melt the filmoplast I use to mend rips on paper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DK iron is OK There's no temperature selector and the cord is less hefty than the old Seal model but it worked OK. The profile is a little different, so be careful not to run off the edge of your print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just try to find one somewhere else! O use this to tack my prints before sticking them in the dry mount press. Without this, the chances of the print moving and making a mess is 100%. With it, mounting prints is flawless!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does a nice job! I use this produce for dry mounting photography. It works great. The only thing which is not real easy to use is the stand. I may fashion my own holder to put it on when its hot.
