The Series 7 S7-CGL is an adapter plate for Canon GL1 and GL2. This adapter plate allows the previously mentioned camcorders to use the Series 7 battery system. This plate attaches to the camcorder via the battery mount allowing a Series 7 SL-50 to power the camcorder.
This came with a Canon GL2 kit I ordered with my company. seemed like a great value. But when this is mounted with a large battery it extends so far that it makes the eyepiece unusable on the GL2. That was fine for me, I always use my camera on a tripod so I never use it. About 6 months after purchase the adapter plate fell apart! Because the two separate pieces are held together by the Series 7 stickers you see in the photo! I called B&H and they're smart enough not to offer a warranty or replacement guarantee. Even the customer support specialist I talked to referred to it as garbage... Wow
