This is a 1 liter bottle of Harman Selenium Toner from Ilford. It is another innovation by Ilford Photographic, a leader in the film/chemical industry. This toner provides rich and deep blacks with a tendency to push color towards the purplish end of the spectrum. Olive hues will be absorbed yielding brown tones on fiber-based silver paper.

Can it be used on B&W film?
Ilford Harman Selenium Toner (1 Liter) (B&H# ILSHT1) is recommended for use on RC and fiber-based darkroom paper to increase contrast. While selenium toner in general may also be used on black and white film, the effects are less dramatic. For film, it may be more common to use a sulfide toner such as Photographers' Formulary Toner for Black & White Prints - Sepia Sulfide 221 (B&H# PHTSL), but any evaluation of the result definitely depends on one's intentions and personal artistic preferences.
