question
If I have a 70volt 150watt amplifier with a group of speakers requiring 48watts can I use the 100watt attenuator to adjust that group of speakers? Will the attenuator or amp be damaged because of the 150watt amp rating?
Hi Carl, provided the group of speakers needs a TOTAL of 48 watt 70 Volt, yes you can use this 100 Watt 70V attenuator. As a rule of thumb, your total speaker required wattage cannot be more than the amplifier rating and the attenuator rating cannot be less than the speaker wattage rating however your attenuator can be less than the amplifier rating provided it is still greater than the combined speaker wattage rating as stated before. hope this helps.
