The Mic Thing from SM Pro Audio is a portable, multi-use, 2" thick acoustic treatment panel. Uses include reducing room ambiance pick-up in a vocalist's microphone, minimizing spill from instrument amplification, or to create temporary control room environments.
The unit consists of three panels - a center piece with two winged panels - in an adjustable lightweight steel frame, that can be used in a fully open configuration, or adjusted to create a tight semi circle. The entire configuration can be mounted to any microphone, drum, or speaker stand that is up to 1" in diameter.
Units can be stacked one on top of another, or multiple units can be used to enclose a particular space. To prevent discoloration and mold, anti-bacterial and UV treatment is applied to the foam, along with a fire-retardant.
