The Link.FireWire from Tapco is a four input, six output FireWire interface, powered directly via the FireWire bus. Tracktion 2 audio and MIDI sequencing software is also included. This hardware and software combination provides all that is needed to record and create music using a laptop or desktop computer.
The interface provides two Mackie designed microphone preamps with "combo" Neutrik XLR/TRS jacks, that accept microphone level, line level, or direct instrument input signals. The analog audio signals are routed to high-quality analog-to-digital converters and then routed to the FireWire port for connection to the computer.
Digital connectivity is served by coaxial S/PDIF input and output and a high-quality headphone amp rounds out the output section of the unit. Complete control of all inputs/outputs is available form the front panel.
Tracktion 2 is an easy-to-use multi-track audio recording and MIDI sequencing software application, capable of unlimited track count, VST support, automation and much more. It comes with plug-ins that provide a wide variety of EQ, compressor and effects processors.
