The Hensel Softstar Short Boom Arm is for use with the large Softstar Umbrella only. Because of the size of the Softstar, tilting the monolight mounted on the light stand is limited to only a few degrees.
After mounting the Short Boom Arm to the light stand, mount your monolight to the boom, then mount the Softstar. This supplies enough clearance to tilt the monolight normally.
