question

Does this filter have a thread pitch of .5mm or .75mm? In other words, will it fit on a black chrome edition 50mm Summilux-M which takes only .75 mm thread pitch filters?
Asked by: Roger E.
DO NOT use this filter on the newest Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (Black Chrome Edition) #11688 or you will damage the lens by cross threading the filter mount, which takes only filters having a thread pitch of .75mm. The threads on this filter are .5mm and will fit only the earlier Summilux versions #11114 and #11113.

question

Can I use this filter (Leica E43 UV/IA 13417) on Leica D-LUX (Typ 109)?
Asked by: Hung N.
This filter cannot be used with the D-Lux, as this camera does not have threads for filters on the lens.

question

Hi B&H Photo,Hope you may help. I'm interested of buying this filter for my Summilux 50mm f1.4 lens (1964 Type 2) which uses 43mm size filter.I mainly to use it for protection and would like to use Leica brand filter. However, I normally use UVA filter and never use IR filter before. With this filter it has UVA/IR so Im wondering how would the IR part impacting the picture quality. Im aware this was designed for M8 which reduces the purple-ish colour in Black colour. Im using M6 film camera with Summilux lens so I would like to know would that be ok to use this UVA/IR filter or it may have impact on picture quality if Im not using M8.Hope you may help and I rely on your expert opinions on this. :)Thank you,Frederick

This filter is an Infrared filter and is not for the use you described.I suggest a filter like this one. It is one of the better brands for optics and coatings.B+W 43mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M FilterB&H # BWUVXSP43 ? Mfr # 66-1073879http://bhpho.to/1uBf9XT
