The Neumann DMI-2 is an AES 42 interface for use with Neumann Solution-D and KM-D series digital microphones. The two-channel interface establishes remote operation over Solution-D series microphones from a laptop or desktop PC and RCS remote control software. The DMI-2 is to be used whenever the Solution-D digital microphones are used with equipment that does not support the AES 42 standard.
The DMI-2 allows for remote operation and control over phantom power, polar pattern switching, etc. The computer is connected to the DMI-2 via a USB port and a USB to RS 485 interface converter. Word Clock inputs and outputs are featured, along with a built-in Word Clock generator in cases where no master clock sync is present. The computer is connected to the DMI-2 via a USB port and a USB to RS 485 interface converter, and several DMI-2s can be cascaded for multiple microphone usage.
