Lexicon MX300 overview

  • 1Description

The MX300 from Lexicon is dual-mono/stereo reverb/delay processor, that delivers the classic Lexicon sound in a professional package, and at an attractive price. It can be used in the traditional manner of editing patches from the front panel. However, thanks to the included plug-in software and USB connectivity, every parameter of every effect is available inside any Windows VST or Mac Audio Units compatible DAW program, for editing and saving with sessions.

The MX300 provides classic Lexicon reverbs and delays, plus dbx compression and de-essing, along with five different routing combinations. Editing patches is intuitive and simple, thanks to a Page/Select wheel, three top-level parameter controls plus Exit, Tempo and Bypass selectors, and a large front-panel.

The unit is perfect for band PAs, churches and clubs, as well as in the studio. Because the built-in dbx compression and de-essing can be used in tandem with reverb, the MX300 is a great tool for taming problem vocalists. The processor was designed to withstand dust, moisture, shock, power surges and all the other rigors of live sound use.

    Lexicon MX300 reviews

MX300 Effects Processor is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versitile, quality EFX processor for the money I use this product for studio work hooked into my DAW and analogue system. The quality of efx are superb. The face plate user friendly layout is perfect for real time control of key parameters (tempo of delays, time decay, speed of effect etc)makng it ideal for analogue use or live application. Works great at the end of a guitar effects line. The USB connect makes it easy to fit into a digital world as well. The combination of the two makes it ideal for fitting in both worlds and for under $, its perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality external effects unit High quality, low noise reverb unit. Very intuitive controls. Both XLR and TRS as well as digital in/out provides maximum versatility. Only limitation is that you can only use one effect at a time, (though that same effect can be applied to two mono channels). So if you want compression and reverb at the same time, you'll need two units.
