  • 1Description

A heavy-duty tripod constructed to handle the weight and size of full size video cameras. Positive action fluid head for smooth panning, separate pan and tilt control locks, single action, quick release camera platform with safety lock make this the true professional model. Center column is gear driven. Legs are tubular design with braces for maximum stability.

The Video Series tripods bring together modern design with ultra-smooth controls. All share the distinctive looking, two-tone titanium leg locks for quick, responsive leveling adjustments. The fluid effect panheads assure professional looking videos without annoying jumps and jitters, and rock solid support for your still photos.

Slik's unique and patented engineering, plus a remarkably wide selection of tripods, it is easy to choose just the right one to hold your camera steady at any angle, on virtually any terrain, for applications indoors or out. Decades of experience and a wealth of accumulated photographic knowledge, combined with state-of-the-art engineering, have been instrumental in helping Slik create tripods that are amazingly light, yet offer remarkable strength and stability.

    Slik 505QF reviews

505QF Tripod is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tripod, Dissapointed in Fluid Head This tripod is really built well and works well. I like the way the verticle shaft locks. I would prefer flip locks instead of twist locks on the legs but that is just personal. The twist locks work well. I am however dissapoinded in the head. I think it has room for improvement to match the advertising. Maybe I am expecting too much, like really smooth panning. Maybe I will grow to like it or maybe it will wear in. I don't know at this point. I am using a really light camera (Panasonic HDC-HS900)on a head designed for more weight. Maybe that is the real issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tripod Really smooth head for pans & tilts and strong steady legs for heavier cameras. Only thing I would change would be the twist (round) tighteners on each leg. I prefer the clamp kind that you push down to tighten and pull up to release because it is faster to set up & break down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it I haven't really had a chance to try it but in my testing I love how smooth the head move the fluid head works really well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tripod, Not Sure if Worth the $$$ I am using this tripod as a camcorder tripod for my church. It tracks very smoothly and is very sturdy. I have been impressed with its, er, slick movement. It does seem awfully expensive, however, so I will interested to see how it does over time compared to other tripods.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough for an amateur The SLIK 505QF is perfect for jobs that don't require a lot of mobility, as it is a bit heavy as other reviews say. I use it to record video games, tennis and skits. The pan head is nice. Everything is stable. The only con is the imprecise slideout legs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good heavy duty tripod I recently purchased this for use in interviews and short pieces for events. This has a smooth pan and tilt and so far seems to hold up. Please keep in mind that this is a heavy tripod, so it will get heavy after a full days use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from worth the price I use the Slik 505 for home movies and small projects with a Canon XHA1s.Not the best Tipod, but for less than $ it's hard to find such a smooth and fluid panhead. It is a bit heavy but easy tu use.
