SLIK SLP4L Reviews

The Ultimate Tripod

This is the strongest, most stable Tripod I own. With a maximum operating height of 8-1/3Ft., it's rock solid even when fully extended. Despite B&H's error in the specifications, listing it's maximum load capacity at only 22Lbs., on SLIK's website, it is in fact TWICE that with a true maximum load capacity of 44Lbs. I most highly recommend this Tripod to everyone needing to safely support the heaviest Photography/Videography equipment.

Loving it.

I took the advice from several presentations for buying a tripod and went 'high end' with this. (My previous was on the low end cost scale.) I am not disappointed at all. The main trick for landscape photography is to make sure you know ahead of time where the shoot will be - carrying 5kgs around here, there and everywhere is no picnic. That kind of pushes you to do proper scouting and composition planning - which is actually a plus as it can cut your 'field time' down.

An old photographer's trick is to use pipe insulation, sold at most home improvement stores. It is inexpensive, and easy to replace.
