The Litepanels Mini Ball Mount Adapter is simply a ball head that locks into place with a lever. It has a foot for mounting onto a camera's shoe, and it tops out with a standard 1/4-20" male thread.

I've gone through 3 of them. They came with 4 litepanels lights i bought. 1 failed after 12 months. 1 failed after 3 and 1 failed after a week. The one that lasted the longest eventually stopped holding the ball. The handle failed on the other two. It's plastic, as are the teeth inside.
