Will not seat with my 5/8 stands studs

This Adapter will not seat into my typical 5/8 stand studs that have the oversized retainer lip at the top. I bought this to use with Photogenic monolight that has a 3/8 stand receiver- that is always a pain in the stand department. This will be little help and I am afraid I will overtighten to attempt to hold in place and break the plastic.

I have a Victor-Smith light that I needed to attach to my tripod light stand. This adapter did the trick. I have no complaints and would recommend it to others.
