  • 1Description

The Giottos MH 1302-210C Pro Series II Ballhead with MH-210C Camera Platform is a "socket & ball" head that has been carefully designed and manufactured to precisely position the camera easily and securely.

In order to cut back on its weight, this head features a hollowed out heavily anodized aluminum ball. The body shell (socket) follows a slimmer and lighter structure design, yet offers increased hardness. Three separate knobs provide optimal security and convenience. In addition to the main locking knob, it also features a friction control knob, and a separate locking knob for pan control.

Features an independent calibrated pan bed

    Giottos MH1302 reviews

MH 1302-210C Pro Series II Ballhead w/ MH-210C Camera Platform is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ballhead Bought to replace head on existing tripod. Works great. I have used with a D300 with optional MD10 battery grip and Nikon 80-400 VR. Holds in-place with no problem. Friction ajustment works smoothly so you can follow movement if needed. Also works on my mono pod. Great addition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They light weight tripod head that can . When traveling, we have to be very concious of weight. I carry a very light tripod and wanted a head for doing misc. and close-up photography. Since my camera is relatively heavy, 1D or 1Ds, and a good lens and maybe a flash, I was looking for a head that would handle both requirements, The MH-1302 is great at both.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Precision Ball Head I purchased the MH-1302 to go along with the Giottos MT-8361 tripod legs. The ball head looks a little small atop this tripod, but it is rated to hold almost as much weight as the tripod legs, so I decided that it would be large enough. My camera is fairly light, so I can't comment on the capacity of the head. What I can say is that this is a precision machine. Fit and finish are exceptional. The ball and all of the controls operate very smoothly. The three knobs give control over ball position, panning, and the 'tightness' of the ball, which helps the head adjust easily with a camera/lens of any weight. I replaced the MH-210C camera platform with the Giottos MH-652 Quick Release platform for added flexibility; it's also a very good product. Overall, I'm very pleased with the 1302. It equals or betters the quality of competing ball heads at a much lower price. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of 5 is that when the panning control is tightened, the head tends to rotate ever so slightly to the right. Just a small quibble with an otherwise outstanding product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from compact & strong This head is small, light, and seems to be strong enough to hold the equipment I plan to mount on it. One small glitch. This is being used on a Sirui tripod which has legs the flip up 180 degrees to rest against the center column (in fully raised position) to reduce length for transport, BUT, the locking knob and tension knob of this head are exactly opposite each other, so one or the other interferes with the full folding of one leg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, Small and Light Ballhead I use this ballhead with a Feisol Traveler tripod CT-3332. Together they are a perfect match and make an extremely compact and lightweight tripod for hiking. I use a micro 4/3rds camera on it, so I didn't need a heavy-duty tripod. I prefer the camera platform that screws into the bottom of the camera. It's more secure than the Arca-Swiss quick-release plates that I have on my other tripod. I find myself sometimes loosening the quick-release plate knob thinking it is the ballhead knob...and once the camera fell out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Giottos Panning Tripod Head I bought this panning tripod head to use on a Manfrotto Befree Compact tripod because the head that comes with that nice piece of gear doesn't have a separate panning function. This is the fourth Giottos tripod head I've purchased and like the others works perfectly in this application-iphoneography with my iPhone5s to do panoramic photos, night shots with camera apps designed for that and some other photo projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pocket Rocket It is a value for money ball head. It is perfect for traveling and for landscapes. I bought this for using it on a Wimberly head WH 200 and using it for landscapes by attaching a camera plate pr P10 plate to the bottom of the ball head and attaching the same to the Wimberly head

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely, smooth small ball head I use this with a small carbon fiber travel tripod. Not only is this much smoother and precise than the ball head I had before, but it's much more stable. I have my own quick release system so didn't buy the version with quick release.
