I like the leg protectors. They fit pretty well on my Gitzo 5541LS. They're just a tad too short (1-1.5) and the foam is cut just a bit small to fit around the legs. The neoprene cover is just right, though, and fits around the legs very well. There's just a slight gap in the foam underneath. Overall, it won't affect performance at all and I'm glad to have the protection for the legs when in transit.

I use this product on my Gitzo GT5531S tripod. Although this product was intended for models that have smaller diameter legs, I was able to install it without much of a hassle and it will serve the purpose for which it was intended. Aside from protecting the upper leg sections, I think it will prove to be very beneficial for use in cold weather.
