The Digital SLR Starter Kit from Lee Filters is an ideal introduction to the comprehensive LEE Filters filter system for digital SLR users. Lee, a leader in square and rectangular filters, has designed this system in response to the demands of both digital and traditional film shooters.

Lee ProGlass filters are manufactured to meet the standards of today's highly sensitive digital sensors. The ProGlass filter reduces irregular color casts. They provide vibrant results as the light forming the image is more specific to the requirements of the film or sensor.

ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching either the sensor of a digital camera or the film plane of a traditional film camera. Neutral Density filters are used to create some unusual special effects such as capturing the "blur" of the rippling water of a waterfall or the swirling effect of city traffic.

This kit includes an assembled filter holder, a 0.6 Graduated Neutral Density Hard ND, a ProGlass 0.6ND Standard and a cleaning cloth. These glass ND filters are optimized for use with digital cameras as they absorb more infrared and UV light than traditional ND filters.

This kit comes packed in a triple pouch, and is an ideal way to get the best results with your digital SLR.

ProGlass Filters

The ProGlass filter reduces false color casts and provides vibrant results for both digital and film, as the light forming the image is more specific to the requirements of the film or sensor
ProGlass NDs are an extremely high-quality glass ND filter - optimized for use with digital cameras, but equally useful for film

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improve Your Photography There's a reason why the LEE starter kit is in high demand even at it's high price. And that reason is because it's amazing. If you really want to improve your landscape photography, a bag full of filters is a good way to start. I used to rely on grad filters in post to bring back some detail and reign in my exposure, but I was losing so much detail and contrast. Using LEE filters allows me to quickly, easily, and accurately dial in my exposure to make great images straight out of the camera. Spend the money and buy quality products. It will save you in the long run and help you make better images.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for Was looking at the screw in filters but opted for the Lee Filter kit for ease of use and large assortment of filters. I'm very happy with my purchase. It's so easy to compose the shot, snap in the filter holder to the adapter ring, and make the shot. The filter holder is so easy to take on and off, that it's much easier to install the filters in the holder and take the holder on and off to compose. I think I'm less likely to drop the glass filter this way. IMHO, this is a great kit, well made, easy to use, and with a large assortment of filters, it's a great addition to my kit. As always Great service with BH Photo! Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent filter system Having been using the Cokin P filter system for the past couple of years this is a great step up. It's a lot easier to attach it on to the lens for starters. A wider system it's less prone to vignetting than the cokin p system. I've never used the Cokin Z system so I don't know how well that works. The adapter (which you buy separately)holds the system slightly further back than the P system does. The included filters are very good with the ND filter made out of glass and the other one made out of resin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Darn Good Okay, the Lee holder and filters are great, no question but since they're in such great demand I had to go for the DSLR starter kit rather than the Foundation kit which happened to come into stock after my DSLR starter kit was delivered. The reason for this is that with the Foundation Kit you're not paying for any of the less popular filters that Lee bundles with the Starter kits. On top of that, I'm pretty sure that the kit I received had been returned by someone else, not that there was anything wrong with it, just saying, there's no discount on resold items. B&H's delivery charges and service were excellent as they always are and I also understand that this is retail etc. Anyway, my advice is to go for the Lee Foundation Kit over either of the two starter kits unless of course you're very sure that you will have need for the bundled filters in said kits. As it happens, I've actually used them on one shoot, so I suppose it's not a total loss. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because of the lack of availability and the steep pricing. Other than that, it's an excellent filter system and you will get great shots once you've learnt how to use them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Starter kit when it comes to filte Pros: -Great for outdoor photography, being able to control the light coming through you lens is a plus. -Quickly interchangeable -ND glass is superb quality Cons: -Prefer the graduated filter be glass too considering the price -Price is a bit steep -The case provides little protection from scratching, prefer you get better casing -Kit does not come with a filter ring Overall, I enjoy the product very much, it gets the job done. Its definitely a step up from screw on lens filters that take forever to change out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money First, I have to say I've only been shooting things for a few weeks now. That being said I would recommend him to anyone I know. I have used Cokin filters in the past and upgraded to the Lee system because of online reviews and the larger filter size. They are easier to attach to the lender and very clear and durable. A little on the pricy side, but you get what you pay for in this instance and it shows on the final image. Extremely satisfied!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from About what you expect First off, 3/4 of a star off because it's really expensive. Another 1/2 star off because the supplied case is rather lame, and doesn't seem to protect the filters from scratches. It seems that the internal fabric is rather coarse and may scratch their expensive contents (the pricey filters). A 1/4 star added back on for them supplying a case at all. End result: 4 stars. The filters themselves seem to be really well made. I've seen YouTube vids of the manufacturing at Lee's factory and they are truly painstakingly handmade. In my kit, the grad filter's tint was crooked by a bit, but it's not a big deal as it is so easy to rotate the holder to get the break line where I want it. I imagine some people will complain that the break is not perfectly at right angles to the filter edges, but it really makes no difference in the functionality of the grad. The holder allows the filters to slide fairly easily, yet still holds them where you want them. The holder has exactly two slots, one for each filter in the kit. I can easily see a need for getting a kit to add more slots later. The choice of filters in the kit are pretty good. If I was to change anything, I would like the 4x4 (100 x100 mm) filter to be a 0.9 rather than a 0.6. But the 0.6 is a good starting point. The holder also holds my Hitech CR39 Prostop 10 filter securely. Heading to Iceland next week to shoot waterfalls, which is why I got this system. If I find any faults, I'll post them when I get back. Don't forget to get an adaptor ring(s) for your lens(es). Adaptor rings are NOT included with this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product!!! Great product to start your set of filters. I was using regular filters and with multiple lenses with different sizes it would be more expensive to get filters for all. The quality is top notch!
